Four players fighting in an elevator

Elevators is a Stage in Gang Beasts.

Overview[]

Elevators takes place on the side of a large building in Beef City, on top of and inside two external panoramic elevators.

The two elevators are identical; They are large traction-driven[1] elevators with enough space to comfortably hold at least four Beasts, large glass panes in the place of the three external walls which are secured by railings and a large trapdoor above the middle of the elevator.

Hazards[]

While the player is immediately suceptible to a Death Barrier some distance below the elevators, the more interesting Hazard of this stage is the elevators themselves.

They move up, move down and stop semi-randomly throughout the match, though neither elevator will move far enough away from the other as to be entirely out of reach of any players still on it.

Both elevators are also precariously suspended on two Breakable Cables each, which can be broken from on top of the elevators to cause said elevators - and any players still inside - to plunge downwards at high speeds, straight into the Death Barrier.

Escalation[]

The movement of the two elevators becomes more erratic throughout the match, which eventually culminates in both suddenly accelerating upwards at incredible speeds for a few moments before the brakes are engaged and they come to a stop. However, the shock from this sudden stop will - after another moment or two - cause all of the cables to snap, dropping both elevators.

Trivia[]

  • Elevators was added version 0.2.5.
  • Elevators takes place on the same building as Gondola.
    • This can be observed from several other maps set outside in Beef City.
  • Elevators (may) have been the first stage to feature a true, round-ending escalation.[Citation Needed]
